I'll Be Home for Christmas是2001年末，是谁的版本已经记不清了。

Every Breath You Take。（Marvin Gaye 的 Where Are We Going 和Remy Shand 的 Rocksteady也很类似但加了切分音更有变化。）

who do you think you are,
Ha ha ha bless your soul
You really think you're in control

Well, I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
Just like me

My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on a limb
And all I remember is thinking, I want to be like them
Ever since I was little, ever since I was little it looked like fun
And it's no coincidence I've come
And I can die when I'm done

Maybe I'm crazy
Maybe you're crazy
Maybe we're crazy
Probably

Toni Morrison在她的小说Sula中有一段描写书中角色黑小伙Ajex的语言，我斗胆换几个词，借来形容清晰而独特的灵骚标兵马文gg(1970创作出爆棚精品专辑Let's Get It On时的他)：His name was Marvin Gaye, a thirty-one-year-young stage haunt of sinister beauty. Graceful and economical in every movement and sound, he held a place of awe with men of all ages for his magnificently soulful voice. His magic was derived from the way he handled the words. When he said "LOVE" he hit the L with his lungs and the impact was greater than the achievement of the most imaginative voices in the history of Pop music. He could say any word with a seductiveness impossible to imitate. If I Should Die Tonight为例，每一个"I"、 "NEVER"、 "FAR"、 "BEFORE"、 "DIE"都以完全不同的方式演绎，然而腾挪跌拓奔流蜿蜒的同时每个词又都是严丝合缝地清晰。

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-08-18T16:43:05Z</dcterms:modified>

自打当年看了Nick Hornby 的小说High Fidelity, 我就落下了个毛病：没事儿就喜欢列desert-island, all time, top-five CD list。 If I Should Die Tonight,

Love‘s Theme / Barry White –

You Are the Way You Are / Marvin Gaye –

听者可以感受到，the way you are拥有巨大的魔力，像重力一样无法逃避不可抗拒；you are the way you are, 固执残忍，也像重力一样无法控制不可改变。

Closing Time / Tom Waits –

Tropical Storm / Lee Ritenour –

Indian Summer / Charlie Byrd –

Crazy / Pete Belasco –

Million Voices / Wyclef Jean – 堵死

Hotel Rwanda

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-02-14T15:42:49Z</dcterms:modified>

10/11/2005 I'm On Train

In his book Slowness, Kundera gives this ingenious dissection of our obsession with speed:

…the man hunched over his motorcycle can focus only on the present instant of his flight; he is caught in a fragment of time cut off from both the past and the future; he is wrenched from the continuity of time; he is outside time; in other words, he is in a state of ecstasy; in that state he is unaware of his age, his wife, his children, his worries…As opposed to a motorcyclist, the runner is always present in his body, forever required to think about his blisters, his age, more conscious than ever of himself and of his time of life. This all changes when man delegates the faculty of speed to a machine: from then on, his own body is outside the process, and he gives over to a speed that is noncorporeal, nonmaterial, pure speed, speed itself, ecstasy speed.

Memory and consciousness are precious; they give you the context, the dimensions, the latitude and the longitude to reflect on everything you experienced. The unreflected life is not worth living, says Socrates. But when you flip the coin, get rid of all you memory and self-consciousness, will you arrive in hell? On the contrary, you get Kundera’s ecstasy of speed. Actually, I’d rather call it the ecstasy of escape. When you think about it, speed, ski, movies, alcohol, drug, orgasm, rock n’ roll, all these hobbies and obsessions that make you high, all they really do is send you away. They drag you out of you everyday life, set you free from your body and its desires, and push your soul to drift. It’s like riding the train: you are traveling from point A to point B without giving an effort, without a direct purpose or a destination. You can stick your head out of the window like a dog, you can inhale the wind, and say hello to the passing by electric poles, trees, cows, stars, mountains, rivers, and tunnels…You don’t want to arrive anywhere, and you wish the train goes on forever. In fact, if I were the guy in Groundhog Day, I would just take a train ride every day. Life can be kind of wonderful. In this sense, death is not so scary and different after all.

So what is all this about? It’s about music. Hehe, slack and fainthearted as I often am, I found music my favorite way to escape. Certain combinations of rhythm and melody send me directly on train. Like Van Hunt’s Dust, Remy Shand’s Rocksteady, and Movin Gaye’s Where are we going. They all have the magic to tune me into ecstasy for about 4 minutes. The train never arrives as long as the music goes on, and on, and on………”I am dust blown away over the edge…”

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-12-05T04:59:53Z</dcterms:modified>

Black Eyed Peas -- Where Is the Love?

What's wrong with the world, mama?

People living like they aint got no mamas

I think the whole world’s addicted to the drama

Only attracted to the things that bring you trauma

Overseas yeah we’re trying to stop terrorism

But we still got terrorists here living in the USA --

The big CIA, the Bloods and the Crips, and the KKK

But if you only have love for your own race

Then you only leave space to discriminate

And to discriminate only generates hate

And when you’re hating you're bound to get irate

Yeah madness is what you demonstrate

And that's exactly how anger works and operates

You gotta have love just to set it straight

Take control of your mind and meditate

Let your soul gravitate to the LOVE, y'all

People killing, people dying

Children hurting, you hear them crying

Can you practice what you preach

Or would you turn the other cheek?

Father father father help us

Send some guidance from above

Cause people got me got me questioning

Where is the love?

Love, where is the love?

The love, where is the love, the love, the love?

It just ain't the same

All ways have changed

New days are strange

Is the world insane?

If the love and peace are so strong

Why are there pieces of love that don't belong

Nations dropping bombs

Chemical gases filling lungs of little ones

With ongoing suffering

As the youth die young

So ask yourself is the loving really strong?

So I can ask myself really what is going wrong

With this world that we’re living in

People keep on giving in

Making wrong decisions

The only vision’s on their dividend

Not respecting each other

Denying they’re brothers

A war's going on, but the reason's undercover

The truth is kept secret

They swept it under the rug

If you never know truth

Then you never know love

Where's the love y'all?

Come on (I don't know)

Where's the truth y'all?

Come on (I don't know)

Where's the love y'all?

People killing, people dying

Children hurting, you hear them crying

Can you practice what you preach

Or would you turn the other cheek?

Father father father help us

Send some guidance from above

Cause people got me got me questioning

Where is the love?

Love, where is the love?

The love, where is the love, the love, the love?

I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder

As I'm getting older y'all people get colder

Most of us only care about money-making

Selfishness got us following the wrong direction

Wrong information always shown by the media

Negative images is the main criteria

Infecting their young minds faster than bacteria

Kids wanna act like what the see in the cinema

Whatever happened to the values of humanity

Whatever happened to the fairness and equality

Instead of spreading love, we're spreading animosity

Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity

That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling under

That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling down

It's no wonder why sometimes I'm feeling under

I gotta keep my faith alive, until love is found

Ask yourself

Where is the love?

Love, where is the love?

The love, where is the love?

Father father father help us

Send some guidance from above

Cause people got me got me questioning

Where is the love?

Now sing with me y’all.

One world, one world,

We only got

One world, one world,

That’s all we got

One world, one world.

Something’s wrong with it,

Something’s wrong with it,

Something’s wrong with the world.

We only got

One world, one world,

That’s all we got

One world, one world.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2005-11-13T02:11:41Z</dcterms:modified>

我在这店里流连，最后看见两对七星瓢虫图案的玻璃耳环，一红一绿，犹豫不决，卖货的大婶酷酷地走过来说：“every one of them are &%*#@~~~”说的像是法语，我说“every one of them are what?”法国大婶叹了口气，忧郁地叫来一位黑大婶，一边说：“why is nobody willing to understand my English...” 黑大婶是高瘦版的胡比高拔，眨着眼睛笑眯眯地说：“she's trying to tell you every one of these is hand-painted. And each customer is only allowed to buy one pair of them.” Oh,oh,I'm buying the other pair for my twin sister."

So, what do I think about this soulful multi-instrumentalist who just happens to boast a wickedly sexy falsetto? Let's see.... If you've never listened to Pete Belasco, please 'Hurry Hurry' and do so. It will definitely be worth the urgency. Trust me, once you get 'Deeper' and deeper into his music, you'll understand what I mean.

Really ladies, Pete has this incredibly smooth voice that makes you feel as if he's whispering 'I'll Come To You' in your ear. He'll make you melt.

And once you start listening, you'll want to 'Keep On,' because you'll be 'Too Close' to a good thing to stop.

Call me 'Crazy,' but his voice is reminiscent to that of Marvin Gaye's and his music seems to have a touch of Curtis Mayfield in it as well.

I speak the truth when I say, you'd be living in a 'Fool's World' if you didn't honestly give him a chance.

What's not to love about a man who dedicates music to 'Nia' his daughter, and the 'Wonderful Woman' he married, not to mention 'Zoe' his other daughter? At the risk of sounding too feminine (which I am), that's a really sweet thing.

So, when 'People Ask Me' about Pete Belasco, after reading this review, you should understand why I just let them borrow the CD and send them on their way. His music should really be experienced, not discussed.

Pete you're HOT!! Your sexy voice...meaningful songs (yes I get it), groovy jazz- is just what WE ordered - THANX!... I really cant say which one is my favorite... now that's a cd for you. Even though I would hate to compare Pete to anyone, but for those of you who are wasting time and haven't bought this CD yet--- let me see-- The vibe is all his own- but for me to describe-- it's a Curtis Mayfield & Michael Franks feel---(NOW THATS AN HONOR, PETE!) HOT 'LANTA is waiting on the concert! Will be right there groovin wicha!!

I'll Come to You 的片断。 =）

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2005-10-25T20:33:56Z</dcterms:modified>

Where the streets have no name 和I still haven’t found what I’m looking for是我比较喜欢的两首歌。

Bono 2002 年建立了DATA组织(Debt, Aid, Trade for Africa)。（这个组织有句口号叫“Don’t send us money, you already have”。）

Bono语：“When you sing, you make people vulnerable to change in their lives. You make yourself vulnerable to change in your life. But in the end, you've got to become the change you want to see in the world.”

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2005-10-25T20:34:38Z</dcterms:modified>
